Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Safety Consultant to lead OSHA training classes and manage comprehensive safety programs for construction companies. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with expertise in occupational safety and health, a passion for educating diverse workforces, and a strong background in construction safety management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • OSHA Training & Education:
    • Develop and deliver engaging OSHA training sessions.
    • Ensure that all training materials and presentations meet current OSHA standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Program Management:
    • Design, implement, and oversee safety programs tailored for construction sites.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Develop and update company safety policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with construction managers to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards on job sites.
  • Consultation & Advisory:
    • Provide expert guidance on safety best practices, risk management, and incident prevention.
    • Serve as a liaison between construction companies and regulatory agencies.
    • Offer recommendations for continuous improvement in safety standards and practices.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, safety inspections, and program evaluations.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on safety performance and regulatory compliance for management review.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with construction teams, site supervisors, and company leadership.
    • Facilitate effective communication between English and Spanish-speaking staff to promote a cohesive safety culture.
    • Represent the organization at industry events, safety seminars, and professional gatherings.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health, specifically within the construction industry.
    • OR 3 years if holding a degree in health and safety.
    • Proven track record in delivering effective training sessions and managing safety programs.
  • Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, federal and state regulations, and construction industry safety protocols.
    • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights for program improvements.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet
  • Must be able to work in both office and on-site construction environments.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (outdoor/on-site)
  • Willingness to travel to various construction sites and client locations.
