Overview
AACON General Contractors is looking for a strategic, detail-driven Proposal Writer to join the team and support our growing federal and commercial construction projects. If you’re a proven writer who knows your way around RFPs, RFQs, and SOQs and you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, we'd love to hear from you!
As we celebrate 20 years of building excellence across the country, we’re looking for a writer who’s not just checking boxes, but helping us win. You’ll work closely with marketing, estimating, and leadership to craft compelling, compliant, and on-time proposals that reflect the high standards of AACON’s work.
Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the development of technical and management narratives for federal and commercial proposals.

Collaborate with subject matter experts, estimators, and partners to gather and translate technical content into persuasive copy.

Create compliance matrices, outlines, schedules, and graphic content for proposals.

Organize and maintain a robust proposal content library.

Manage multiple deadlines using tools like Asana or Microsoft Planner.

Attend proposal planning meetings and participate in submission prep and final packaging.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience writing federal-level proposals (or 5+ in A/E/C proposals).

Knowledge of SAM.gov, Adobe InDesign/Acrobat, and Microsoft Office.

Strong interpersonal and project coordination skills.

A knack for writing clear, engaging, and persuasive copy.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, or a related field.

Ability to pass a federal background check.

Writing portfolio/samples are required.
