Overview
We are a company that manages the development, design, construction, operations, and procurement for hospitality, retail, gaming, commercial, and other related industries across the United States. This individual should be experienced in managing and coordinating activities associated with design and construction projects for multiple types of facilities.
You will need to be highly organized and enjoy the challenges of working on an active construction site with, Owner's management team members, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. This position will make use of your excellent time management skills, assessment, and implementation skills.
You will be working with Procore on a daily basis so a desire to learn this tool will be part of the "to do" list every day. Ability to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial.
This is a position for the experienced construction manager/superintendent.
Duties & Responsibilities
You will "conduct" (If you know our website, you will understand the conducting) the daily on site construction activites. You will work directly with property leaders, with the design team, and the project management team at Encompass. You will work directly with subcontractors and vendors to assure that the project processes move along at the pace as planned. Depending on the project, coordination with the property operations to minimize the impact to business can be a major part of the Construction Manager's role. Daily logs, two week look aheads, and weekly budget reviews will all be part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications
- 5 years commercial construction management
- Experience in cost control measures
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong assessment and implementation skills
- A fantastic understaning of the logic in sequencing of a construction project.
- Experience working with project management software (Procore)
- Pre-construction experience (the bidding process)
- History of great relationships with owners and subcontractors in the industry.
- Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of project budgets
- Mentoring skills
- Ability to prepare for and lead meetings
- Passion for project safety
- Ability to schedule all aspects of the project
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook)
- Safety Certifications
- Commercial construction management with multiple types of facilities (hospitality – gaming, hotel, restaurants, bars, retail is a plus)
