The Sales and Business Development Representative will help execute PTG’s Sales and Business Development strategy to increase sales and overall presence in the market. Alongside the President, this position will assist in maintaining and optimizing established processes to cultivate new leads, provide sales opportunities with timely and accurate feedback, and increase PTG’s customer base. This role also helps to identify potential market opportunities and collaboratively advises on how these can be cultivated and realized.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prospect New Business/Expand Current Business

  • Identify and develop new customers (short and long-term) and close new business
  • Manage and expand current customer business, identify new opportunities, maintain profitable pricing (short & long-term), and minimize erosion
  • Provide client proposals and support Engineering in the quoting process

Total work time given to these duties: 60%

Maintain the Integrity of the Sales Process

  • Manage Sales and Business Development key priorities, goals, and sales targets
  • Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and internal sales process and databases
  • Lead weekly Sales and Business Development meetings and report on department metric

Total work time given to these duties: 20%

Support and Engage with PTG’s Marketing Initiatives

  • Support the creation of an annual schedule and assist with PTG’s public relations efforts
  • Investigate and assist in determining new marketing avenues for PTG in a variety of formats (online, print, tradeshows, conferences, industry events, etc.)
  • Collect and analyze analytics on PTG’s online presence to optimize digital marketing efforts

Total work time given to these duties: 20%


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in business administration or an engineering field of study
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets over a defined period
  • Proven experience in executing processes and meeting deadlines
  • Familiarity with tools such as CRMs, SEO, and project management software
  • Professional experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastics or injection molding

  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player
  • Ability to work remotely, to travel as required
  • Detail-oriented and analytical; follow instructions carefully
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and deadlines

  • Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions and priorities
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 tools for day-to-day business
