Overview
The role of the Project Estimator is to find projects to bid that are applicable to Rame to ensure our work load and probability. The project estimator shall work up the estimates to review with managers prior to submittal. The estimator shall aid in the project development concerning project startup, materials, and project specific questions.
Duties & Responsibilities
• This role is in our office in Springfield, Kentucky and requires IN-PERSON work with the team.
• Identify potential projects to bid.
Collect information regarding upcoming bids to
enable the team to make an educated decision
on bidding the project
• Review the specification and plans for all project
details. Contact all vendors and subcontractors
for prices. Contact/conversation with
owner/general contractor to allow us to build a
relationship with them. Estimate the project to
get a bid value that can be reviewed with the
team.
• Bid Process - Develop market place and balanced bid ready for
review by the team.
• Project startup checklist (entering budgets, BUD
locates, preconstruction Letters, FMP, etc). Brief
the Project Manager with project specific
information. Answer job related questions from
superintendents and order job materials.
Qualifications
Academic/Technical Qualifications
• Engineer/ Construction Degree or Background
• 3-5 Years Industry Experience in Heavy Highway Construction
• Private Development
• Construction processes knowledge
• Ability to understand construction plans (profiles, cross sections, etc)
Software & Tools
• Computer Skills
• Excel
• ProEstimate Heavy Estimating Program
• Timberline Accounting
• SureTrak Scheduler
• Leadership/Management experience/capabilities
• Ability to manage ones activities with minimal supervision
• Capable of Leading Others if Needed
• Communication Skills • Effective Communication of Project Details To Team
• Effective Owner/General Contractor Prebid
