Since 1937, Rosa Mosaic has been a specialty contractor installing terrazzo, tile, and natural stone in a variety of buildings in our region, including many signature architectural projects.  As time passed, Rosa Mosaic added to its product offerings to include engineered quartz, gauged porcelain panels, carpet, resilient, and other products, for both interior and exterior installations of floor, wall, and countertop finishes.

The Senior Flooring Estimator (SFE) reports directly to the Chief Estimator of the company. The position will assist with many facets of the estimating department, including project submittals, sample requests, material procurement, shop drawing development, and quoting primarily commercial projects for all the Rosa Mosaic products.

Duties & Responsibilities

Estimate & Bidding:

• Estimate material and labor quantities from architectural drawings and specifications to bid on projects.
• Issue quotations promptly based on completed estimates.

Design & Documentation:

• Develop shop drawings indicating patterns, details, field layout, custom designs, and locations of various materials.
• Develop project-related questions for architects to gather complete information prior to bid dates, documenting for field personnel after contract award.

Budget Management:

• Understand and maintain budgets during material procurement for contracted projects.
• Manage submittal process including sample requests, product data, LEED information, and shop drawings, aiming to keep material costs within or under budget.

Project Coordination:

• Attend initial project meetings for construction schedules and updates.
• Establish order dates based on current construction schedules, procure materials to meet established project start dates, and maintain an updated progress schedule.

Client & Supplier Relations:

• Respond effectively and promptly to external requests for budget pricing and pre-bid samples from architects, designers, and construction managers.
• Assist general contractors and construction managers with value engineering for budget-constrained projects.

Nurture and maintain strong relationships customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in the building products industry, specifically in commercial flooring estimating.
• Undergraduate, trade, or design school education is preferred; a high school degree is required.
• Competency in Microsoft Office suite and enterprise resource planning software.
• Experience with CAD software is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness.
• High-energy, deadline-oriented individual.
