
Overview
Louiville Thoroughbred Society is looking for a skilled, creative Bartender committed to delivering an exceptional beverage experience for our Members. The Bartender’s responsibilities include crafting both classic and innovative cocktails, maintaining a well-organized bar, engaging with guests, and working closely with servers to ensure timely, accurate drink service. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer, and thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Members according to recipes and standards.
- Mix both traditional and creative cocktails with consistency and flair.
- Provide suggestions based on Member preferences and menu pairings.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including glasses, tools, and work surfaces.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies before and during service.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up the bar and securing it at the end of the shift.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and take appropriate steps to ensure a safe environment.
- Process payments and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Build rapport with Members and contribute to a positive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Collaborate with servers and other staff to ensure smooth service and timely drink delivery.
Qualifications
- A friendly, attentive attitude.
- Ability to walk, stand, and carry heavy trays.
- Willingness to work at peak hours, which may include evenings, holidays, and weekends.
